A Recipe To Cure The Dreaded Hangover
Yep, I just experienced the dreaded side effects of alcohol consumption…the hangover.
This weekend I had a few drinks of grey goose and lemon water with my buddies, hit the clubs, and acted like I was 19 years old again (ah the good old days). Sure it felt good to be back on the scene…but since I don’t do this often, my body gets really annoyed with me when I do.
The conversation between my body and my brain would go something like this…
Body: “You [bleep]. Who do you think you are putting those toxins into MY body?”
Brain: “I run the show here body. Know your role, stop talking, and just sit there and look good.”
Body: “My role? I’ll show you my role you ungrateful [bleep]. How’s a headache sound? Oh, and how about a queasy stomach…and oh yeah, a major case of the lazys. Consider it done.”
And they would continue to fight for about another 5 hours or so.
So what if I told you there was a solution to all this? I way to cure the hangover and help you recover faster.
You see, when you drink alcohol, not only do you dehydrate your body, you also deplete your body of vitamins and minerals. Therefore not only is it important to drink lots of water…it’s also very important to eat vitamin/mineral rich foods. You know the ones…VEGETABLES & FRUIT!!
Here’s an easy way to get a lot of that into your body quickly to help speed up the recovery process…a green drink!
Specifically a SPARK green drink (recipe from my good friend Bex at http://www.BexLife.com.
SPARK is an acronym for:
S – Spinach
P – Pineapple
A – Apple
R – Romaine
K – Kale
Also, just because you don’t feel like it…being hungover doesn’t give you a free ticket to skip your workout. A good, sweaty hangover detox workout could be just what you need (drink lots of water).

Brad’s Cookbook: Hangover Cure Green Drink Recipe
Ingredients:
- Handful of spinach
- Handful of pineapple
- 1 full apple
- Handful of romaine
- Handful of kale
Instructions:
1. Add to a juicer or powerful blender.
2. Enjoy!

After my 21st birthday I went to a seven hour dance rehearsal. Working out didn’t seem to do the trick that day.
