McDonalds Nutrition: What is your healthiest option?
Wow…today was the first time, in a long time, that I stepped foot in a McDonalds. Why? Because it’s Food Wars time! I’m currently in-between homes right now (by the way, I did find a new stylin’ place to live) so I’m eating on the go. I know this is a common occurrence for most people as well, so it makes a great Food Wars episode.
That’s right, we’re looking at McDonalds nutrition. In other words, comparing the unhealthy high calorie foods with the healthier low calorie foods.
Since it’s been a long time since I stepped foot in McDonalds, was it what I remembered? Sort of. On the downside, it had the same customer demographic and the same sub-par customer service. But on the positive, the restaurant had a pleasant, stylish new design!
What about the food? Are there healthy options available? And what are the unhealthiest options to avoid?
To find out the answers to these questions…

If I want you to take one thing away from the above video, it is this…
Remember the compound effect. You will not become obese or die of a heart attack after eating ONE high calorie burger, fries, and soda. It’s eating that same food over and over again that will cause you health issues (i.e. the compound effect).

Pollo Tropical here in florida has Tropi Chop bowls that you can design.
Usually if I’m stopping there it’s because I’m staving. So I’ll get the small TropiChop bowl with brown rice, black beans, roast pork, tomatoes, onions, and fresh salsa. Not perfect but some what healthier than other options.

If I'm on the road and stuck, subway is usually a good place to land on. A salad with grilled chicken and veggies

yeah that subway salad would probably be very comparable to the McD’s salad. chicken would be high in sodium as well i’d bet.
