Reason #1. You May Not Be Burning As Many Calories As You Think Are

Here is an example.

How many of you have seen people at the gym walking on a treadmill at a really high incline, or stair climber?

Did you notice how many of them are holding on to the front handles of the cardio machine to save themselves from spinning off and flying into the back wall?

By holding on to the handles of the cardio machine, you’re making it much easier on your body, thus you’re actually burning less calories than you think.

Live Lean Tip: if you’re going to do your cardio on the treadmill or the stair climber, take your hands off of the handles.

If you’re worried about your safety, simply reduce the speed or incline.

Reason #2. You Fill Your Grocery Cart With Nothing But Low Calorie “Diet Food”

In other words, junk food that is filled with fake sugars, artificial sweeteners, and chemicals.

There is more and more researching coming out that these artificial sweeteners actually increase your hunger, thus at the end of the day, you’re eating more calories because you binge on other food.

If you want a sweet food, stick with fruit, or eat food with real sugar, but just save it for after your workout.

Low calorie starvation diets will ruin your metabolism.

I see this happening so many times with so many people.

When you mess around with your metabolism and hormones, your body is going to hold on to all of that fat, at all costs.

Don’t just diet and stop eating food.

I want you to eat food, but I want you to burn more calories via your exercise.

That way you can eat more and still be creating that calorie deficit that you need to lose weight.

Reason #6. All The Calories You Are Consuming Are Coming From Processed Carbohydrates

Speaking of calories, even though you may be restricting calories to create a safe calorie deficit, all of your calories may be coming from processed carbohydrates.

It’s not as simple as calories in vs. calories out.

The macronutrient breakdown of your food is also important.

The calories that are coming from protein, carbohydrates, and fat is critical to create a hormonal shift in your body to burn stored fat for energy, not sugar.

Reason #7. You’re Not Sleeping

Getting high quality sleep is often the missing link when it comes to weight loss.

I know, easier said than done.

At night, turn off your damn TV, computer, and smartphone, and read a book.

  1. I’ve been trying to lose weight for years without having much success. When I heard about the latest craze for this new appetite suppressant, Caralluma Actives, I was very excited. However, I couldn’t find any reviews, so I thought well, why not try the product and review it myself? For the last six months I’ve been taking Caralluma Actives and now I really can’t wait to talk about the results I’ve seen.

  2. There are three things I need to work on: food (either I eat too much or not enough), stress and the quality of my sleep.

  3. Stress Is my downfall. It’s now causing me to overeat. I know I’m not supposed to do too much cardio but you say to exercise more to create the calorie deficit. Can I do more than one session of intervals per day to help while I’m going through the stress?

  4. I struggle with sleep. I work nights and have a 10 yr old and 19 month old and am a single parent. When I get off work my shift as a mom starts and I only get to nap from 10-2:00pm each day. I also struggle with portion size and when to eat since I rarely get to sleep.
